Habitat: Marine; prefer shallow reefs where they form small schools near the sea floor. Often associated with Elkorn and Staghorn corals. Distribution: Crawl Key and Carenero Island Natural History Notes: Mobile Invertebrate feeder, including plankton, small crustaceans and molluscs. Depth: 0 - 25 m Characteristics: Silvery blue to silvery white surface lined with five or six horizontal stripes and yellow fins. Life history includes a pale phase. Length 7 - 9 in.
