Habitat: This Cormorant species can be found along the coast and on larger bodies of fresh water. Distribution: The range of this species is farily wide, but they will usually breed from extreme southern United States to extreme southern Chile and in the Bahamas and Cuba. Characteristics: The total length of this species varies between 63 cm and 68 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a long blackish bill with a hook shape at the tip and black legs. The plumage of the adult is entirely black. During the breeding season, the bare skin on the facial area is yellow to orange. The feathers are bordered by a white line.
