Habitat: Growing on hard substrates or as an epiphyte on seagrasses and course algae. Distribution: Florida, Bahamas, Greater Antilles, Lesser Antilles, Southern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico. Depth: 1-2 m Characteristics: Thallus forming clumps with green iridescence. Branching dichotomous. Branches becoming more narrow toward rounded apices. A single layer of rectangular medullary. Surfaces hairs scattered and in tufts near the center line of the blade. Notes: Although surface hairs have been reported to be common in this species (Littler & Littler 2009), no evident hairs were observed in the Bocas material.
