Habitat: It is common in shallow water Distribution: This species has been reported on the Atlantic Coast, from Nova Scotia to North Carolina and Brazil. Depth: 0-4 m Characteristics: Laevicardium mortoni measures between 0.75 and 1 inch in length. The shell is thin, sligthly inflated and with an oval shape. The coloration on the exterior is yellowish white with fine orange bands, organized in zigzag. The interior is yellowish with a hint of purple toward the posterior margin.
