Habitat: Present in moderately shallow water Distribution: This species has been reported from Florida to the West Indies. Natural History Notes: Its common name comes from the fact that this species was previously listed as Lucina tigrina, a Indo-Pacific species. Characteristics: Codakia orbicularis has a length of 3 inches. The shell is solid and slightly inflated. On the surface, we can distinguish fine ribs. We can also distinguish large teeth and sharp beaks. The coloration is white, but with sometimes some pink coloration.
