Habitat: Inhabit wide range of shallow to moderate environments, from sandy bottoms to sloping rocky substrates and patch reefs. Distribution: Florida, Caribbean. Depth: 10 - 70 ft. Characteristics: From Reef Coral Identification : Tall, bushy colonies, not branched in single planes. Branched laterally near base, but toward top tend to branch pinnately. Hard, rough, close-set calyces extend prominently with sharply spiked lower lips. Branches yellow to yellowish brown, orange or amber; polyps white. Colony height: 1- 1.5 ft.
