Habitat: On artificial substrates. Distribution: West Central Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, Southern Brazil, Azores and European waters. Depth: 0.5 m Characteristics: Transparent colony, with zooids around 2.0 cm long, divided into a thorax and abdomen. Its siphons are short and tubular with flat margins. Internal taxonomic characteristics include a simple pharynx with 13 or more rows of stigmata (no vessels or folds), neural gland with simple opening and a subdivision of the dorsal lamina. The testis surround the oocyte. Its larvae has 3 adhesive papillae in a triangle position projecting from a common peduncle.
