Habitat: This leaftosser species will favor humid forest in the lowlands and foothills. Distribution: This species has been reported from southeastern Mexico to northern Colombia. Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 15.2 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a dark brown coloration on the above and is characterized by the white throat that has feathers outlined black, which gives an overall scaly aspect. Also, the chest is orange and the lower underparts are dark brown colored.
