Habitat: This flycatcher species can be found in montane forest and shrubby forest boders habitats. It is usually found in the highlands. Distribution: This species has been reported from Costa Rica and western Panama. Natural History Notes: You will find this species usually alone on in pairs. Its diet consists on fruits. It will be hard to find this bird since it is fairly quiet and has a weak call. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 8.5 inches cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). The coloration pattern varies between sexes. The male is mostly bright black on the above with a yellow rump. The throat is black, which nicely contrasts with the yellowish green chest. The lower underparts are gray but show yellow sides on the flanks. On the other hand, the female has an olive coloration on the above, yellower on the rump and we can also distinguish a black cover on the top of the head. The throat is gray, the chest olive and the underparts are gray, like the male.
