Habitat: We can find this species in second-growth woodland and forest borders, but also in shrubby clearings and around habitations. They are found in the lowlands. However, this species is rarely found in Bocas del Toro. Distribution: This species was reported from southern Texas and Mexico to central Argentina and Uruguay. Natural History Notes: The white-tipped dove is mostly terrestrial and has a comic behavior of nodding the head over and over. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species is 11 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). The part above is gray-brown with a paler coloration on the forehead and with orbital of light gray turning to blue coloration. The part below is pinkish brown and becomes white toward the belly. The tail is black and tipped white.
