Habitat: Grass beds, and inconsistant hard substrates (rocks/corals). Distribution: Distribution is centered in Caribbean with ranges stretching lightly as far as North Carolina and Brazil with occasional specimens in the eastern Atlantic. Natural History Notes: Mostly hides during the day occasionaly leaving its head protruding from recesses. Openly feeds at night. Characteristics: Heavy to medium body reaching lengths of around 100 cm (>3 ft). Bodies are intensely spotted with a paler undercolor of white - yellowish.
