Adult: Species description based on Ibanez et al (1999). A medium sized treefrog with a long snout (males to 46 mm, females to 48 mm). The throat of males is dark (white in females). Dorsal: Dorsal coloration varies from grey, to brownish, to orangish. Most individuals have a dark brown triangular patch between the eyes; some additional dark markings are usually present on the back. The arms and legs are barred. Ventral: The ventral surface is white. Concealed surfaces: The rear surfaces of the thighs are orange or yellow with prominent dark brown or black vertical bars.
Breeding season: Breeding occurs during the rainy season (Ibanez et al 1999). Males call from vegetation surrounding temporary and permanent ponds and lakes (Ibanez et al 1999).
