Habitat: You may have more chances to see this rare species in overgrown fields, shrubby areas and woodland borders in the lowlands. Distribution: This Cardinal species breeds in southeastern United States and northern Mexico and will migrate south to Florida and northern Mexico, and from Mexico to Panama. The male shows an impressive coloration pattern, with a purple-blue head, a bright green back and the rump as well as the part below are bright red The wings and the tail are dark gray colored. The female and the immature bird will have a plain green coloration on the above and an olive-yellowish coloration on the below, with a more yellow coloration toward the belly.
