Habitat: The Canada Warbler will favor lower growth and shrubby borders of humid forests and woodland habitats. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in eastern North America and winters from Venezuela to Peru, and a very small number goes to Panama. Natural History Notes: The Canada Warbler forages actively in vegetation or on the ground, and often catches insects in flight. These birds are insectivorous so mainly eat insects. The song of this bird consists of a loud and highly variable series sounding like "chip chewy sweet dichetty". Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 13.3 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). The male has a beautiful blue gray plumage on the above with a black forecrown and a black coloration on the sides of the head, which contrasts with the yellow line below the eye. Then, the part below is bright yellow, but the chest is crossed by several black stripes. Finally, the under tail-coverts is white. The female looks similar but shows a paler coloration on the above.
