Habitat: This species pass by directly over Panama, so you find them in open areas. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in North America, Europe, northern Africa and Asia. The birds from North America migrate south to South America. Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species varies between 15.2 cm and 19 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a long tail with a very pronounced fork shape. The coloration of the tail blue-black but with a band of white sppots on the inner webs. Then, the plumage above is mostly steel blue with some chestnut coloration on the forehead. Then, the underparts are cinnamon red.
