Adult: Species description based on Tanner (1962). Small to medium sized salamander with a fairly long tail. Dorsal: The dorsal surface is cream colored with small brown spots. Ventral: The ventral surface is also cream colored with brown spots. Distinguishing characteristics: This species has two dark lateral lines separating the dorsal and ventral surfaces. Extremities: Hands and feet are fully webbed.
Habitat: Lowland rainforest to 500 m. Ecology: The type specimen was found in the leaf axil of a Heliconius; the species is probably arboreal (Tanner 1962). Type locality: "from Rio Tuira at mouth of Paya Tributary, Darien Province, Panama" Diet: Small arthropods including ants, chironomid larvae, flies, and spiders were found in the buccal cavity of the type specimen (Tanner 1962).
