Characteristics: Maximum reported size: 28 mm. The shell is slender but can be stocky. The 3.5-whorled protoconch is often incomplete. The whorls rapidly increase in size. There are usually 11 to 14 costae line up beneath each other on the body whorl. The teleoconch is white and glossy, and sometimes there is a brown subsutural band between the costae. There is no umbilicus or basal ridge. The operculum is fragile, translucent, and tinged with yellow-brown.
