Habitat: Frequently found in grassy areas in shallow water. Characteristics: The shell reaches 32 mm and is cream or white, usually with some orange-brown or dark brown markings. It has an acute apex and is moderately elongate. The 1.5-whorled protoconch is often incomplete on adult shells. The surface of the shell is covered with flattened spiral cords and threads of varying size. These cross irregular axial swellings to form spiral rows of nodules. Notes: Synonym: Cerithium algicola
