Habitat: This Thrush species can be found in clearings, garderns and lighter woodland and open areas in the lowlands and foothills. Distribution: This species has been reported from central Mexico to northern Colombia. Natural History Notes: The Clay-colored Thrush is a common bird of Panama. It usually forages, alone or in pairs, for fruit and small invertebrates on the ground or slightly above the ground. As a foraging technique, it will follow army ant colonies and feed on the small invertebrates disturbed by the movement of the colony. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). It is a resident species. Characteristics: The total length of this species varies between 23 cm and 25.4 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a green-yellow bill. The plumage is olive brown above and beige-brown below. We can distinguish gray stripes on the throat.
