Habitat: This seabird is found in warmer waters throughout the world. Distribution: This species breeds on small islands of the eastern Pacific Ocean but its ranges is widely spreaded in tropical oceans. Natural History Notes: The Red-billed Tropicbird is a seabird that is fairly strong and are usually found alone. This bird nests on small islands in crevices or shady places but otherwise they will fly and visit different places around the world. Its diet mainly consists of fish and squid. They forage by diving from high heights. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species varies between 45 cm and 55 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird is characterized by the long white central tail feathers that can reach a length of 5 cm and by the bright red bill. The plumage is mostly white, with some black on the primaries and a black eye through the eye as well as a fine black strip on the back.
