Habitat: Present in undergrowth of humid forests and forest borders. It can also be found close to tropical plants of the genus Heliconia since they often feed on them. Distribution: Reported from Costa Rica to Northern Peru. Characteristics: This species has a total length of 13.97 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). The beak (also named bill) is very characteristic for that species. It is very sharply and decurved and bents almost into a right angle. This hummingbird is green above and the below is stripped white. The tails shows a gradient of dark green and ends with a white tip.
