Habitat: This species will favor lower growth of forest and second-growth woodland, in the lowlands. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in northern North America and northeastern Siberia. American birds will migrate south mostly in northern South America but rarely in Middle America. Natural History Notes: The Gray-cheeked Thrush is a fairly shy bird that will be hard to observe. It usually forages on the forest ground, for insects and spiders. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 18 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has an olive brown coloration above with characteristic gray cheeks and no ring around the eye, contrary to most of the Thrush species. The part below is white with some gray on the chest and gray spots on the chest and the breast.
