Habitat: This species may be hard to see but you could find it in mangroves and swamps. Distribution: This species has been reported from Mexico to western Ecuador and the Guianas. Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total lenght of this species is 12 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a yellow-green bill and red legs. The head, neck, breast and sides all have a rufous-chestnut coloration. The throat is a little more white. The upperparts are olive brown. Then, the belly, the rump and the tail are all black. The primaries are rufous-chestnut.
