Adult: Species description based on Ibanez et al (1999). A tiny poison frog (males to 15 mm, females to 16 mm). Dorsal: The dorsum is dark brown or black. A faint golden or orange stripe is present lines the edges of the dorsum. A more distict yellow or orange line extends from the lip, below the eye, to the arm. The arms and legs are dark, lightening to orange or yellow where they meet the body. Ventral: The ventral surface is marbled black or brown with light blue. Eye: The iris is black.
Habitat: Lowland forest to 1000 m. Ecology: An inhabitant of the leaf litter (Ibanez et al 1999). Call: A short, quiet, buzz repeated infrequently (Ibanez et al 1999) Type locality: Barro Colorado Island, Panama Canal Zone Diet: Ranitomeya minuta consumes mites (Simon and Toft 1991).
