Adult: Species description based on Mendelson and Mulcahy (2010). The single adult male specimen is 72 mm. This frog is very robust, with stout arms and legs. Dorsal: The dorsal surface is very dark grey or black, with some mottling. The dorsal surface has many small pointed tubercles. Ventral: The ventral surface is cream with extensive dark mottling, especially on the chest. The ventral surface is fairly smooth except for the throat, which is granular. Distinguishing characteristics: Incilius karenslipsae lacks a distinct paratoid gland. Eye: The iris is bright green. Extremities: This toad has extensively fleshy, webbed hands and feet and very plump digits. Habitat: This only known specimen was found in moist forest. Behavior and communication: Incilius karenlipsae has been observed climbing on branches in captivity (Mendelson and Mulcahy 2010). Type locality: Panama: Coclé Province: El Copé, Parque Nacional G.
