Habitat: Is found in our area from sea level to 400m on the Atlantic slope in association with primary and secondary forest habitats. Both males and females are active from 11 to 14hrs in shaded understory along trails, rivers, and streams. Range: CostaRica to Panama, Ecuador, Brazil. Distribution: Bastimentos Island Characteristics: Sexes similar. Upperside white with both wings margins and FW costa mottled black; HW with a conspicous reddish orange submarginalis band at into the mottled black border that varies in length from specimen to specimen. Underside overshot with a dull cast, and FW cell with three to four elongate black triangles thinly bordered with white. (13-13.5mm)
