Habitat: Evergreen and semideciduous lowland forests, tolerates second growth and disturbed habitats. Distribution: Mexico through Central America (especially Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica and Panama coast), to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. Natural History Notes: Guild 8: Highly Cluttered Space/Gleaning Frugivores (Kalko, et. al., 1996). Feeds on small figs, Characteristics: Small size. Forearm 35-42 mm, Mb 9-12 gms. Fur gray-brown, paler underneath. Ear not completely edged in white or yellow, facial stripes prominent, no dorsal stripe. Uroptagium(tail membrane) bare, no tail present. Horseshoe of noseleaf free. Upper, inner incisors bilobed.
