Bocas Species Database Depth: 2 - 15 m Characteristics: Maximum reported size: 7 mm. The soft parts of the animal are mostly cream-colored with green patches and purple-brown blotches and are visible through the shell. The foot is grayish and overlaid with opaque white bars. Two broader bars at the end are separated by lightning-like streaks of reddish orange. There are yellow dots present among the white, and the lateral areas have white and yellow spots and dashes. The tentacles have one or two white and orange spots. The siphon is mostly yellowish white, sometimes latticed with pale orange-brown lines. There are transverse reddish orange lines behind the eyes. The shell has five to seven columellar plications. Five are usuallly visible on adults. Swollen ends in internal lirae appear as a row of small teeth on the inside lip of adult shells. The outer lip is thickened, but has no external varix. |
