Characteristics: Maximum reported size: 15 mm. The shell is white and slender, and the spire is sometimes distoreted. Shell profile varies widely. The protoconch has 3.5 whorls and is brown, fading to white but retaining a brown line at the suture. A reticulate effect is created by a combination of the microscopic perforations occuring between the fine threads which comprise spiral sculpture. The teleoconch has several thick varices and rounded, poorly-defined axial ribs. Small pits are formed between the ribs at the sutures and there is no basal ridge.
