Habitat: This species can be seen in offshore waters in the Pacific and the Caribbean. Distribution: This species breeds in arctic and winters at sea in Central America and down to Chile. Natural History Notes: The Parasitic Jaeger is a seabird that is fairly aggressive when it comes to find food, and that will flight at high speeds. They will usually be alone but will sometimes bother a bird group in order to steal its food. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species varies between 40.64 cm and 48.26 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). The tail is fairly long and straight, and the central feathers extend beyond the tail. The part above is grayish brown with a creamy collar on the hindneck. The part below is white with some gray spots. While they are flying, we can distinguish white spots at the base of the primaries.
