Habitat: This Wood-Pee species can be observed in clearings, forest edges and woodland, in the lowlands. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in eastern North America and migrate south in northern and western South America. It might also migrate to Middle America. Natural History Notes: The Eastern Wood-Pee is usually perched on a dead branch, waiting for flying insects. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). It is a latitudinal migratory species. Characteristics: This species has a total length of 14.6 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a black tipped bill with the lower mandible yellow. The plumage is dark gray olive above. The tail and the wings are dark gray and we can distinguish two pale gray wing-bars. The throat is whitish with a grayer coloration on the sides of the body and more olive on the breast and the flanks.
