Habitat: The Uniform crake may be found in second-growth woodland areas near water or swampy areas. Distribution: This species has been reported from southern Mexico to Bolivia, Amazonian and southeastern Brazil and Guyana. Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species varies between 8 inches and 8.5 inches. This bird has a short thick bill of a yellow-green coloration. The legs are red. It can be characterized by the rufous brown coloration and the olive brown crown, hindneck and back. The part below also has a rufous coloration but a little brighter than on the above. The coloration is paler on the throat.
