Adult: Species description based on Savage (2002). A medium-sized salamander with a long, pointed snout. May reach lengths of 151 mm, including the tail. Females are generally slightly larger than males. Dorsal: The dorsal coloration is light brown. Cream-colored markings are usually present on the head and tail. Ventral: The ventral surface is covered in cream spots surrounded by brown reticulations. Number_of_costal_grooves: This species has 17 costal grooves. Eye: The eyes are small. Extremities: The limbs are relatively long. The hands and feet have some, but not not full, webbing.
Habitat: Lowland and premontane forest to 880 m. Ecology: This species is found in leaf litter (Savage 2002). Type locality: Palmar, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica
