Habitat: This Flycatcher species can be found in shrubby areas and clearings, near water sources. It can be found in the lowlands. Distribution: This species has been reported from Honduras to northern Bolivia and western Brazil. Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). It is a resident species. Characteristics: This species has a total length of 6.25 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has an olive brown plumage above and a yellow coloration on the part below, with a lighter colored throat. Its common name comes from the gray coloration on the top of the head (cap) with some white tones on the forehead. We can also distinguish a fine white stripe above the eye and the black ear-coverts. The male will have an orange-yellow patch that will partially mask the gray cap.
