Bocas Species Database Habitat: Found on a coral reef. Depth: 5.0 m Characteristics: This ascidian forms flat colonies with zooids that are embedded in a transparent tunic with a brown ring around each oral siphon. There is black pigment located on the siphon and abdomen. There are four rows of straight stigmata in the branchial sac and there is a large atrial aperture with a languet connecting each zooid to the common cloacal opening. The thorax is longer than the abdomen and the gonads are located on the right side inside the intestinal loop. There is a glandular tissue covering part of the two testis follicles. The sperm duct is straight. |
