Habitat: This Flycatcher species will be a visitor of open areas, such as residential areas in the lowlands. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in south-central United States and migrate south from southern Mexico to central Panama. Natural History Notes: The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is usually seen in small groups, perched on low fences or bushes. Its diet consists of fruits. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This beautiful bird is characterized a very long and deeply forked tail that is longer in the male. The plumage above is silvery gray with the wings colored black and the edges white colored. We can also distinguish an orange patch under the wing. The plumage below is white, becoming pale pink on the belly.
